Coronavirus (COVID-19): a message to everyone we support.

About our online chat

Our team is online to offer you free, confidential advice with drugs or alcohol.

Whether you need advice for yourself or to support a friend or relative, we’re here for everyone.

We’ll work with you on your own goals, whether that’s reducing your drug or alcohol use, stopping completely or just staying safe and healthy.

Is it confidential?

Everything you tell our online team is confidential. We won’t share it with anyone else.

The only time this might change is if we have serious concerns about your own or someone else’s safety.

See more about how we protect your privacy.

How do I make sure my chat is private?

To make sure your chat stays private, it’s best to use your own phone or computer rather than a shared one. If you don’t have your own phone or computer, you can use private browsing.

Who is online chat for?

Our online chat is for people who:

  • need some support with drugs or alcohol
  • need advice about someone else’s drug or alcohol use
  • are over 13 (if you're 13 or under you can contact Childline for help and support)

We can’t:

  • make or change appointments
  • get you a script

You’ll need to contact your local service directly to do this.

Who will I be chatting to?

Our online advisors are all trained, experienced drug and alcohol workers who work for With You.

When are you available?

We’re online:

Monday to Friday - 9am to 9pm

Saturday and Sunday - 10am to 4pm

You can still message us when we’re closed. We’ll get back to you as soon as we’re open again.
