What we do

WithYou delivers free talking therapy services on behalf of the NHS across Kent, Medway and Surrey. We’ve run specialist mental health services since 2008, and our talking therapy services help over 200 people every day.

Our team offers CBT, counselling and guided self-help to support people with a range of mental health problems, including stress, anxiety and depression.

We value staff wellbeing, promote career development and we’re passionate about clinical excellence too.

We all go through something difficult at some point. Being able to help people reclaim their life again is what I love about my job. Jay, CBT Therapist

Roles in Talking Therapies at WithYou

WithYou values its talking therapies workforce and has created a range of different career pathways that utilise your fantastic skills - from trainee positions through to experienced clinical lead roles.

Our Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) deliver guided self-help interventions to treat a wide range of common disorders, supporting clients to learn skills for life that help them to feel and give them a sense of autonomy over their mental health.

As a PWP you will:

  • manage a caseload of clients to ensure WithYou provide an excellent service.
  • complete assessments to identify if a Talking Therapies intervention could help people making self-referrals
  • delivering Step 2 psycho-educational webinar

Our Step 2 Clinical Leads provide clinical leadership to the Senior PWP team as well as the wider qualified and trainee PWP workforce.

This involves case management, clinical skills, meta-supervision, and delivering CPD and training.

Every day is different! Step 2 Clinical Leads will meet with various staff members e.g. Senior PWPs, PWP Champions, Step 3 Clinical Leads, and Operations Managers to work on several topics and projects. They also hold a small caseload.

Step 3 Clinical Leads carry a small caseload of clients and supervise a range of different therapists.

This role is part of the NHS Talking Therapies leadership team so there is a lot of opportunity to explore how the further develop the service.

High-Intensity CBT Therapists support clients and look to find ways to improve their well-being through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.

Our Therapists also co-facilitate group sessions for their clients.

Trainee Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (TPWPs) use Guided Self Help interventions based on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people look at how thoughts or beliefs can impact emotions, physical sensations and behaviour in a way that may be contributing to, or maintaining distress.

Our Trainees manage a caseload of clients, complete assessments, attend an NHS-funded Postgraduate Certificate course at University (depending on the service) and learn evidence-based techniques for treating clients.

I love the variety and the flexibility within the role. I’m able to deliver group work as well as treat clients in a one-to-one setting. I love that it’s different every day. Ben Deacon, Senior CBT Therapist, East Kent
