What to expect

You’ll receive free, non-judgmental support and advice from the WithYou team.

We want you to feel safe and comfortable when seeking support, and your privacy is really important to us.

Everything you tell us is confidential. The only time this might change is if we have serious concerns about your own or someone else’s safety.

How we can help

Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT)

We use the CRAFT approach (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) to support family members, partners, and close friends of people affected by drug or alcohol use.

CRAFT is an evidence based approach that recognises how challenging it can be to support someone you care about, and that your wellbeing matters too.

Our aims

  • Support positive change and increase the chances your loved one will reduce drug or alcohol use, or seek help without pressure or ultimatums.

  • Improve your wellbeing by supporting you to reduce stress, build resilience and look after your own emotional health whilst supporting someone with drug or alcohol challenges.

  • Strengthen relationships and communication by helping you develop calmer, clearer ways of communicating and helping conversations feel more constructive.

How we work

We help family members learn practical skills to:

  • Communicate more effectively and be heard
  • Encourage and reinforce positive behaviour
  • Respond differently to difficult situations
  • Set healthy boundaries
  • Focus on self-care without guilt
