With You to work with Liverpool City Council to deliver ADDER accelerator programme
Today, Liverpool was announced as one of Government’s ADDER (Addiction, Diversion, Disruption, Enforcement and Recovery) Accelerator programme locations. Liverpool will receive up to £2.4m investment in reducing the everyday harm of drug use to people and communities across Liverpool. With You are the lead provider in delivering ADDER for Liverpool City Council with key stakeholders including Merseycare NHS Trust, YMCA Together and Merseyside Police across Liverpool's health and social care infrastructure. The project will ensure that people are offered a health based approach to tackling their drug use and turning their lives around, diverting people away from the criminal justice system.
Responding to the announcement of Liverpool as an ADDER accelerator site, With You Director of Services for the North West, Siobhan Peters, said:
“Liverpool is an area where we’ve provided support for over 15 years. During that time, we’ve worked closely with Liverpool City Council to deliver treatment to support and improve the lives of people across the city, often in challenging circumstances. This major investment into front-line services, through the project ADDER Accelerator scheme, has the power to be truly transformative for many more people. It will allow us to realise many of the ambitions we’ve had to improve the way we support people who use drugs, and will allow us, alongside our partners, to build an even stronger, more robust treatment system for years to come.”
